Participation in the International Conference "Education and Research in Digital Age Societies"
On November 4–5, the Faculty of Sociology at Yerevan State University hosted the international conference “Education and Research in Digital Age Societies.” The conference aimed to explore the transformations brought by the digital era to educational and research environments, as well as to promote the exchange of international experience in enhancing the quality of education and the effectiveness of scientific research.
The event brought together scholars from leading educational and research institutions in Armenia and abroad. One of the keynote speakers was Professor Barbara Oakley from Oakland University (USA), a world-renowned expert in the field of learning neuroscience.
Marina Galstyan, Founding Director of the Center for Educational Research and Consulting, presented a paper entitled “Rethinking Civic Education in Armenia: Youth Participation, Critical Thinking and Democratic Values in the Digital Era.” In her presentation, Marina Galstyan introduced research findings aimed at improving non-formal civic education programmes in Armenia, based on preliminary findings from an ongoing study of Armenian youth.
We express our gratitude to the Faculty of Sociology at Yerevan State University for the excellent organisation of the conference, the invitation, and the opportunity to participate in such an important academic platform.
